Good product. It doubled my band saw capacity. The rigidity of the band saw frame is not compromised due to addition of the height attachment. Only complain is that the kit costs almost twice as much as the other brands (Jet and Grizzly).
Simple to install and setup. I have the older delta, so the round guide bar wasn't right but bought a piece of 7/8 inch hex stock from local welding shop.
One negative thing that I did find was that the new height casting did not sit flush with the old casting. The instruction sheet was clear and easy to follow. This was an easy installation. It turned out that one of the alignment pin holes was not deep enough and the pin held the casting apart. Contrary to what I had read on the web, I found that a couple of ordinary adjustable end wrenches were all that were needed to loosen and tighten the large bolt and nut When removing the upper casting and again when reinstalling it after adding the heighth piece, I found that it was a help to support the casting at the blade end by placing a piece of scrap wood of the appropriate height under the blade guide. When installing the new longer bolt, I had to temporarily tilt the upper casting a bit to get the bolt to line up with the hole in the bottom. Had to deepen the hole a little and now the castings sit flush.The new attachment works great but one cannot really do much re-sawing with a 3/4 HP motor. This has to be upgraded to 1 1/2 or more HP.
I turn a lot of wood bowls on the lathe and the Delta Height attachment made it possible to saw much larger round bowl blanks from logs. Previously I would need to change to a narrow blade in my large bandsaw which I use for resawing. My 14" Delta is now a more usefull machine.
the only problem that I ran into was the bolt that was included in the set was standard thread and the nut that you were to use over from your bandsaw is metric. This upgrade for the 14" delta bandsaw was very easy to install. It made the saw run much smoother. so for me it was off to the hardware store. But I am very happy with this upgrade.
